FAQ
Kiln Dried Firewood goes through a drying process to ensure wood is dry at its core. Our vacuum kiln dries firewood from the inside out. Killing all bugs in the process, allowing for a more efficient, hotter and longer burn with less smoke. Kiln drying allows for even moisture content across the wood, rather than letting it sit outside for a year plus allowing for bugs to enter the wood, mold and mildew to build up hoping the wood dries enough for it to burn.
The amount of firewood you need depends on how often you burn, your wood stove or fireplace type, and your heating needs. For occasional use, like weekends, we recommend our Signature Select Bundle, which includes a 2'x4' stack of premium Kiln-Dried Firewood and a starter pack. For regular use, consider a face cord to keep warm through winter. Check out our various firewood quantities under the “Shop Our Firewood” tab on our website.
A face cord is one row of firewood, stacked 8 feet long and 4 feet tall, with logs that are 16 inches long. It's also known as a third of a full cord.
There are slight differences to outdoor and indoor use firewood. indoor firewood is mixed hardwoods that are cut to 18" sections, seasoned until moisture content is below 20% and then delivered to your home.
Outdoor wood is a slight mixture of hardwoods and softwoods. Oak, Hickory, Maple, Poplar, and Pine can be found in your outdoor firewood delivery.
Depending on the time of your order you can expect your firewood in a few hours depending on location of delivery. On a busy day our crews receive several deliveries which lead to a longer delivery time of more than a day. Our team provides an estimated delivery time and date upon ordering.
